Job description
About the role
Seymour Hotels is looking for a hands-on Office and Stock Control Coordinator to join its busy team. It is available on either a full-time or part-time basis; applicants must state clearly which they are applying for.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the office team, keeping paperwork, records and systems accurate and up to date.
- Manage stock control for key items such as uniforms, guest amenities, stationery and consumables, maintaining appropriate levels.
- Raise purchase orders, process deliveries and invoices, and reconcile stock movements.
- Carry out regular stock checks and audits, investigate discrepancies and report issues and trends to the manager.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments on orders, deliveries and returns.
- Maintain tidy, safe and well-organised stockrooms, following health and safety and manual-handling guidelines.
- Support basic data entry and reporting, producing simple summaries or spreadsheets on usage, spend and variances.
- Assist with general office tasks such as filing, scanning, printing, email and telephone queries.
Required profile
- Previous experience in an administrative, stock control or coordination role, ideally in hospitality, retail or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable with a mix of office-based and physical work, including lifting and moving stock with appropriate equipment and training.
- Numerate and able to handle figures, quantities and simple reports.
- Proactive, reliable, punctual and flexible, with good communication skills and a team spirit.
- Experience in housekeeping is a bonus but not essential.
Required skills
- Basic IT systems such as Outlook and Excel, and stock or ordering systems; willing to learn new ones.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
What we offer
- A competitive salary.
- Online retail discounts through the company's benefit platform.
- Referral scheme and recognition schemes.
- Diverse training and development, including in-house and external courses and cross-training.
- Internal transfer and promotion opportunities.
- Employee social events, long service awards and a sickness benefit scheme after 6 months.
- Free flu vaccination and a 24-hour employee assistance programme.
