Practice Development Health Care Assistant

About the role

LV Care Group is looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join its Care Academy team in Jersey, which works in healthcare training and education. The successful candidate will help build a positive culture of training, supporting colleagues to develop the skills and knowledge relevant to their work. You will be assigned a group of homes and rotate between them to deliver work-based training and competency assessments, including moving and handling and Care Certificate assessments, with full training provided.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and assess work-based training, including moving and handling, Care Certificate competencies and other training allocated by the Head of Training and Education
• Contribute to evidence-based practice and incorporate research and evaluation into Practice Development activities
• Where appropriate, involve service users and their relatives in the development and delivery of training
• Represent Care Academy at meetings, working groups and committees, and work with the multi-disciplinary team
• Undertake clinical shifts and act as a team to provide high-quality, person-centred care in line with regulatory standards
• Support personal care, safeguarding welfare, reviewing care plans and promoting infection prevention and control
• Take part in audits, supervision meetings and appraisals, and advise staff on clinical issues

Required profile

• Level 2 RQF in Adult Care or Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Health Care Assistant and 5 years' residency
• Teaching or training experience (informal or formal)
• Own transport and computer skills
• Evidence of ongoing professional development
• Desirable: training, education or assessor qualification, or willingness to obtain one
