Junior Sous Chef – Greenhills Country House Hotel

About the role

Join the award‑winning kitchen team at Greenhills Country House Hotel as a Junior Sous Chef. This hands‑on position lets you continue working on the sections while taking on supervisory duties, maintaining standards and helping develop junior chefs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen service, ensuring food quality, presentation and a clean, safe workspace.
• Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to develop innovative, seasonal menus using locally sourced produce.
• Mentor and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive, high‑performing culture.
• Maintain the hotel’s 2 AA Rosette standard and contribute to its culinary reputation.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a quality hotel or restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene; Level 2/3 Food Safety qualification desirable.
• Passionate about food quality, presentation and consistency.
• Calm, organised, able to work under pressure and communicate effectively.
• Good command of English and a willingness to take responsibility in an empowered environment.
