Head of Portfolio Management

About the role

Lead Standard Bank Offshore's portfolio management franchise, providing strategic direction and investment oversight to deliver consistent, superior risk‑adjusted returns across African markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive portfolio management strategy across all regions, aligning with business objectives and client risk‑return expectations.
• Own the end‑to‑end investment process for discretionary portfolios, ensuring disciplined construction, asset allocation and performance optimisation for high‑net‑worth and institutional clients.
• Integrate portfolio management activities across the offshore platform to ensure consistency in execution, risk discipline and client outcomes.
• Collaborate with offshore and global teams to leverage international investment capabilities and deliver diversified portfolio solutions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science or equivalent.
• 10+ years experience in asset and portfolio management, including risk management and reporting at a bank level.
• Proven experience with African markets and strong presentation and report‑writing skills.
