Investment Risk Officer

About the role

The Investment Risk Officer will maintain risk and compliance oversight within the Investment Division of Standard Bank Offshore, ensuring operations align with agreed risk parameters and regulatory requirements. This role is based in Jersey and is not open to relocation or sponsorship.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input to design the investment division control framework and support a robust controls environment.
• Manage breach, incident and complaint processes, review reports and follow up with relevant parties.
• Conduct ad‑hoc investigations into breaches to identify causes and improve processes.
• Prepare reports, collate key risk indicators, analyse risk data and present insights for investment services and risk meetings.
• Undertake periodic client suitability reviews, investment mandate monitoring and testing of division controls.
• Maintain business continuity plans and perform periodic risk assessments of systems and suppliers.

Required profile

• Diploma in Finance and Accounting with 5‑7 years of experience in financial services, including at least 5 years in the securities industry.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance, securities regulations, end‑to‑end processes and trade/payment processes.
