Higher Apprentice, Tax (Jersey)

About the role

PwC Channel Islands is recruiting a Higher Apprentice in Tax (Associate level) based in Jersey, working 37.5 hours per week. The tax team advises clients on tax planning, compliance and strategy, and tax compliance specialists validate clients' compliance with tax laws, review and analyse financial data, prepare and file tax returns and help businesses meet their obligations while minimising non-compliance risk. The three-year programme includes study for a relevant qualification such as a Chartered Accounting or Chartered Tax exam.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse financial data and prepare and file tax returns
• Work on local and international tax challenges, drawing on the global PwC tax network
• Support assurance reviews of tax aspects and give tax input to regulatory reviews, liquidations and data systems projects
• Attend client meetings, including off-island ones, and take part in industry events
• Study for a relevant qualification with support from the team, career coach, buddy and learning and development representatives

Required profile

• Achieved or on track to achieve 96 UCAS points or above in one sitting; A Levels or equivalent in any subject
• No work permit required; candidates needing a work permit cannot be considered due to immigration restrictions in Jersey and Guernsey
