Higher Apprentice, External Audit

About the role

PwC Channel Islands is recruiting a Higher Apprentice (Associate level) in its Assurance line of service, based in Jersey. The role covers external audit: obtaining reasonable assurance that financial statements are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and issuing an auditor's report. The position is 37.5 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide market-leading assurance services to a wide range of clients, from multinational companies and start-ups to family businesses, governments and private individuals, including banking, capital markets, private equity, real estate, insurance and consumer finance.
• Evaluate compliance with regulations, including governance and risk management processes and related controls.
• Study for the professional Chartered Accounting qualification over a three-year programme, supported by the team, career coach and buddy.
• Split time between client premises, the office and exam study, with some travel and busy periods during the year.

Required profile

• Achieved or on track to achieve 96 UCAS points or above in one sitting; A Levels or equivalent in any subject.
• No work permit required; candidates needing a work permit cannot be considered because of immigration restrictions in Jersey and Guernsey.
• Early application recommended, as applications may close early with high interest.
