Vice President, Research & Evidence

About the role

The Vice President, Research & Evidence will provide strategic leadership for FHI 360’s global research enterprise, ensuring that research is high‑quality, ethical, and aligned with the organization’s mission. This senior role shapes the research agenda, drives innovation, and builds a sustainable ecosystem that delivers impact today and prepares the organization for future challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise research strategy, aligning it with organizational goals and emerging global needs.
• Champion innovative research models, new methodologies, and adaptive approaches to enhance relevance and impact.
• Oversee technical quality, ethical compliance, and financial stewardship of complex, multinational research initiatives.
• Serve as the escalation point for risk management, including safeguarding and protocol violations.
• Lead high‑level relationships with funders, sponsors, academic institutions, NGOs, and other partners to mobilize resources and expand market presence.
• Build a leadership culture that emphasizes empowerment, accountability, and cross‑portfolio collaboration.
• Support Senior Directors in growing research portfolios and developing emerging technical areas.
• Collaborate across programs, global operations, strategy, and regional teams to ensure consistent standards and governance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or international equivalent) in International Development, Public Health, Research, Education, Economics, Environment, Nutrition, Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including senior leadership of large‑scale, global research programs.
• Proven track record of securing funding and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams and foster a culture of continuous learning.
