AVP Financial Controller

About the role

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a prestigious financial institution in Jersey as an AVP Financial Controller. You will be at the heart of the organisation’s financial management, ensuring accuracy, integrity and reliability across all financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and presentation of accurate, timely financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Support risk identification, assessment and mitigation through insightful analysis and regular reporting.
• Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent fraudulent reporting.
• Design, implement and update comprehensive financial policies and procedures.
• Manage selection, implementation and maintenance of financial systems in collaboration with IT.
• Prepare statutory and regulatory reports for submission to authorities.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits.
• Advise People Leaders on complex control or governance issues.
• Lead a team, set objectives, coach, appraise performance and determine rewards.
• Analyse data from multiple sources to solve problems and communicate findings clearly.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with proven experience in financial services.
• Experience in financial control functions, preferably with regulatory reporting exposure.
• Demonstrated ownership of data integrity, control frameworks and delivery of system or process change initiatives.
• Private bank or wealth‑management experience is desirable but not essential.
