Assistant Manager – Accounting (Financial Services)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Accounting will deliver high‑quality accounting and financial reporting services to a diverse portfolio of clients, primarily within the financial services sector. You will prepare statutory and management reports, oversee junior staff, and apply strong technical accounting knowledge under IFRS and UK GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting, including cash‑flow forecasts, budgets and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review annual and interim financial statements in accordance with IFRS, UK GAAP and other relevant standards.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts in agreed client formats within reporting timelines.
• Produce financial information for board and committee reporting packs.
• Review and quality‑assure work prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Apply and interpret a broad range of accounting standards, providing technical input and guidance.
• Draft technical accounting papers on treatments, judgments and the impact of new or amended standards.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on general accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Experience supporting month‑end and period‑end close processes and preparing recurring management accounts.
• Background in offshore financial services or professional services, audit or accounting advisory environments.
• Exposure to preparing technical accounting memoranda and supervising junior team members.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Qualified or pursuing membership of a recognised professional accounting body (e.g., ACCA, CA, ICAEW).

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
