Home & Appliance Service Technician

About the role

Jersey Electricity is looking for a Home & Appliance Service Technician to deliver technical support to customers, from installing new products to diagnosing faults and giving expert advice. You will work with appliances, IT equipment and home entertainment systems, acting as a key link between the sales and service teams. Applications are welcome from people of all backgrounds and experience levels.

Key responsibilities

• Install and set up appliances, IT products and other Powerhouse products to company standards, safely and in line with regulations
• Diagnose and repair faults, give clear repair assessments following manufacturer guidance, and support customers in their homes and remotely
• Test and troubleshoot faulty items before returning them to suppliers, and share technical insights with the admin team
• Respond to service requests promptly, keep customers informed and ensure a positive experience

Required profile

• Previous roles in appliance repair or technical support (essential)
• Full UK driving licence (essential); Medium Goods Vehicle Licence desirable
• Hands-on experience with IT or appliance installations desirable
• Appliance repair certification, manufacturer training, electrical safety certification, PAT testing or IT support certifications desirable

Required skills

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Logical, methodical troubleshooting approach
• Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Safe manual handling and lifting practices
• Ability to explain technical information simply and work independently and in a team
